DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Posts Corporation (TPC) has partnered with the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) to become the official cargo transporter for the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF).

Scheduled to run from June 28 to July 13 at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Trade Fair grounds, this year’s DITF is expected to host over 5,000 companies and participants from more than 19 countries.

The agreement, signed on Tuesday between TPC Postmaster General Mr Macrice Mbodo and TanTrade Director General Ms Latifa Khamis, highlights a shared commitment to modernise the fair’s operations through reliable, cost-effective and technologydriven transport services.

Mr Mbodo said the critical role of service in ensuring the success of trade exhibitions, noting that efficient transport can significantly reduce logistical challenges for both exhibitors and visitors.

“This partnership brings real economic value, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). “By cutting down transport costs and delivery times, we empower businesses to focus on showcasing and selling their products to both local and international audiences,” he said.

Among the key offerings from TPC are swift pack and baggie, digital services that simplify logistics by offering seamless cargo handling, booth delivery and personal transport within the fairgrounds.

Additionally, TPC through post cargo offers a specialised service for transporting heavy cargo weighing over 30 kilogrammes or items that cannot be packaged as regular parcels and sent through the postal system. Also, TPC will provide clearing and forwarding services for international exhibitors—an essential component in attracting global participation.

“Our cargo services will ensure that goods from abroad are cleared, forwarded and delivered directly to the Sabasaba grounds efficiently and securely. “This not only simplifies participation for foreign businesses but also expands opportunities for cross-border trade,” Mr Mbodo added.

TanTrade’s Director General, Ms Khamis, echoed the sentiment, stating that integrating modern transport solutions into the fair’s infrastructure marks a shift toward professionalism and convenience.

“There will be no more handcarts inside the exhibition grounds. Instead, modern transport provided by Posta— bookable via the Swift Pack app—will facilitate smooth mobility for both exhibitors and visitors. This reflects our vision for a more efficient and globally competitive trade fair,” she said.

She also highlighted the app’s ability to streamline entry by allowing visitors to purchase tickets digitally, further enhancing customer experience and accessibility.

With service now at the centre of its operations, the 49th DITF aims not only to showcase products but also to elevate the country’s reputation as a hub for professionally managed trade exhibitions in the region.
