Nigeria to collaborate with Tanzania in medical expertise, cancer research

ABUJA: NIGERIA-based Africa Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) has pledged to collaborate with Tanzania in exchanging medical expertise, providing training for professionals, and promoting research on cancer, heart diseases, and other critical areas of healthcare to improve the health services in Tanzania.
The Minister for Health, Jenista Mhagama made the statement in Abuja, Nigeria on Thursday when representing President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the launch of the first phase hospital.
Speaking during the event, Minister Mhagama said that AMCE is an ideal of hope and resilience for the healthcare sector across Africa, including Tanzania.
“It represents our shared African vision of self-reliance, strengthening regional cooperation, and reinforcing health systems in line with Agenda 2063,” the minister noted.

Additionally, Ms Mhagama stated that Tanzania will continue to collaborate with Nigeria in the health sector as Africa becomes stronger through continued cooperation.
The AMCE will serve the people of Nigeria as well as patients from all corners of Africa, including Tanzania.
